Superfood Movie Popcorn Recipe

This popcorn is delicious and incredibly nutritious! It takes only 4 ingredients and 5 minutes of your time. If you are trying to find a way to get away from chips and other processed unhealthy snacks, this is the recipe for you! Disclaimer: Do not be afraid of healthy fats! Fat is vital for brain health, cell health, and health in all areas of your life! Low fat=unhealthy body and that is not what we are about here! We make recipes for vitality and energy and health, not nutrient depletion and fad diets that do not prevent disease and do not heal the body.


We use organic olive oil and organic popcorn kernels. Popcorn kernels are heavily sprayed with pesticides so they really should be organic and it does not cost much more than regular popcorn! If you can afford it, go for grass fed ghee, but any ghee will do. We use himayalan sea salt because it contains more minerals than other salts.

It is simple!


  1. Have a large bowl ready to go on the side before starting.

  2. Heat up the oil in a stainless steel large pot that has a lid ready to go on medium high heat. You will know the oil is ready when it is moving more like water and less like oil.

  3. Add the popcorn kernels and put the lid on at a tilt with a generous gap for steam to escape. Move around the pot to coat all the kernels in oil.

  4. Let it sit until it starts popping. Once half of the pot is full of popcorn, grab the handles and shake it around to prevent the popcorn from burning.

  5. Once there is a couple of seconds between pops, remove from heat and immediately pour all of the popcorn into the bowl to prevent burning.

  6. While the popcorn is cooling heat up your ghee in the microwave in 15 second increments until it is a liquid.

  7. Pour ghee on the popcorn and sprinkle with himalayan sea salt and mix! I don't ever measure these. I just taste and taste until the balance is perfect. Start with a few tablespoons of ghee and work your way up until you find the perfect amount for you!

  8. Once everything is cooled you can store it in a ziplock bag or a container in your pantry! I've stored it for five days without a problem. I'm not sure how much longer you could safely store it because it never lasts that long for us!
