DIY Natural Disinfectant Wipes

Writer: Prepper MamaPrepper Mama

I do not like to use a lot of chemicals and unknown substances in our house for many reasons. Because of this I make as much as I can from scratch. Here is my step by step guide on the cheap and easy way I make very affective all natural sanitizing wipes. The essential oils and rubbing alcohol in this recipe give us a well rounded disinfecting, antiviral (kills coronavirus as well per the CDC), anti-fungal, antibacterial, and antiseptic product.

Disclaimer: Rubbing alcohol is a wonderful cleaner and safe for the skin but should be avoided in aerosol forms as breathing in rubbing alcohol fumes is toxic.

Step 1

Cut a paper towel roll in half. This is the trickiest part and takes some elbow grease. It works best to use a serrated bread knife but I don't have one so I used my regular kitchen knife.

Step 2

Measure out 1/2 cup of 70% (or higher %) isopropyl alcohol and mix with 1 cup of purified water. Then add the following measurements of essential oils and stir:

30 drops tea tree essential oil

10 drops lavender essential oil

15 drops bergamot essential oil

Step 5

Place the half roll of paper towel in a container with a lid and pour your mixture evenly over the paper towel roll.

Step 6

Wait a few minutes allowing the paper towels to soak up and disperse all of the liquid. Then you are able to easily pull out the cardboard tube in the middle of the paper towel roll and have a convenient dispenser as you pull your first sanitizing wipe from the center.

Pop on the lid and you are ready to go! We use them for items that get touched a lot such as phones, stair hand rails, steering wheels, door knobs, etc. Whenever you use them make sure you allow the surface to air dry, do not wipe it dry with a paper towel as the ingredients need time to kill the organisms.

Bye for now!
