This salve helps with dry and congested coughs, irritation in the chest and throat, and even doubles as a topical tension reliever for the rest of your body. I have had some friends with diagnosed Covid-19 who said this salve helped tremendously with their symptoms so I feel obligated to share this recipe with everyone, especially now.
This takes less than 10 minutes to make!
Step 1
In a glass jar or dish that can fit in a small pot add the following ingredients:
1/4 cup organic coconut oil
1 1/2 tsp beeswax
Step 2
Fill a small pot halfway with water and bring it to a low boil with the jar placed inside of it. This is how I gently melt the oil and beeswax without destroying any of their natural beneficial properties.
Leave it at a low boil and mix every once in a while until your oil and beeswax turns into a complete liquid.
Step 3
Turn off the burner and place your jar on a hot pad on the counter. Now add the following essential oils to the mix:
8 drops of peppermint essential oil
8 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
4 drops of tea tree essential oil
2 drops of rosemary essential oil
2 drops of lemon essential oil
Step 4
Mix then pour your mixture into the jar you plan to store this in permanently. I have used a couple different kinds of containers that I will link in the bottom.
Step 5
Let it cool completely before putting the lid on. Make sure you label it along with an expiration date a year from when you made it. I am not sure if it will last longer than a year as I have not had mine a year yet but my reference book says keep it in the medicine cabinet for up to one year so we are going with that!
If you are new to essential oils start slow to make sure they work well with your body. Now that we know our family does great with them we put this on our chest, nose, temples, or forehead a few times a day when we have a cold, need relief from a cough, or to help with various types of congestion and headaches.
Bye for now!
